The floods in Colorado are indicative of the warming planet creating greater humidity and increase downpours that settle over one area and stay and stay and stay. According to scientist Bill McKibben and executive director of 350.org, the 4% increase in moisture is enough to significantly “load the dice” so that we increasingly get more dramatic deluge, downpour and flood events similar to the skies emptying in the manner of a bathtub drain.
Not only in Colorado are we seeing increased and unusual flooding but all over the world—Nashville, Vermont to name just a few nearby, and outside the U.S. in China, Mexico, Canada, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Korea, Greece, Germany among many others.
